Jake Morrison reviews the games on this site, and his test for an open world is simple: is he still finding new roads in it a month after launch? Traffic Racer Open World passed that test so thoroughly that it got this entire atlas. Jake has covered driving games for eight years and published more than 210 reviews and guides.
How Jake reviews
Every build is installed fresh on the test rack and explored properly: village, highway and city, in the dry and in the rain, offline and in full online rooms. Jake judges traffic behaviour, world flow, frame stability in the busiest scenes and whether the map rewards curiosity. Notes come from the drives themselves, never from press material.
Background
Jake plans real road trips the way he explores virtual ones, one unmarked road at a time, and spent years writing about American highway travel before games took over his desk. He believes a world map is a promise a game makes to its players, and he reviews like someone checking whether the promise was kept.
